Full day

This has been a full day.   Started early, and it's ending late, at least by my standards. I never left the place, not even to make my trip down the mountain to the mailbox.   It's been the kind of day that you get up here, went fast but I can look back now and know that I got a lot done.  Now I'll listen to a little smooth jazz on the satellite radio for a bit, and then call it a night.

  1. I hear ya there. I mowed both our in town and farm properties today. The farm alone takes about 6 hours total from start to finish.

    I am beat.

    Night man.

    1. Owning a place in the country is like owning a sailboat. You finish one thing, but in the course of doing so you find three more tasks that have to be addressed. At least I don't get bored often. I hate mowing. My meadow is shaped like an L, is on a steep hillside, and it takes me about three hours on a good day to get it mowed. 6 hours would be more than I could handle I think.

  2. With you on that mountain, I feel compelled to say, "goodnight, Johnboy".

    1. These days I have a lot more in common with Grandpa Walton than I do John Boy. ;-)

  4. Kymber, you never know what cats will bring up. I've rescued chipmunks, moles and baby squirrels from mine. Much to the anger and annoyance of the cats, of course.

    1. Harry - we have 3 cats and neither jambaloney or i ever have a full nights sleep....somebody is always bringing in something. this is the first grass snake...but they regularly bring in birds, mice and voles. we try and save as many as we can as the cats seem to be interested in just playing with them, not killing them. but my one little guy keeps bringing frogs in the house??? no damage to them so i have no idea how he gets them...but heck, trying to catch a frog at 3am in the morning is a pain!!!!
