Cut Veterans pensions so illegal immigrants can benefit.

Fox News:
17 Dec 2013

A final effort by Senate Republicans to halt cuts to pensions of military retirees failed late Tuesday, after Democrats blocked an amendment to the controversial budget bill.

The two-year budget agreement, which cleared a key test vote earlier in the day, was expected to get a final vote no later than Wednesday.

Ahead of the final vote, Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., tried unsuccessfully to use a parliamentary tactic to force a vote on the amendment, which he wrote to undo the cuts for military retirees.

A provision in the already House-passed bill would cut retirement benefits for military retirees by $6 billion over 10 years.

Sessions wanted to instead eliminate an estimated $4.2 billion in annual spending by reining in an IRS credit that illegal immigrants have claimed.

    1. I guess more illegals vote than Veterans, or at least the Dems must see it that way.

    1. It's the Bread and Circuses routine. When the congress passes Obama's amnesty bill, illegal aliens will be the largest single "new" demographic in the country. Got to please them. With the wars winding down, the Dems think it's ok to renege on the promises they made to the military. After all, they don't need them anymore, so why not. The Democrats have a lot to answer for.

    1. Well, let's see. We have a Senator from Minnesota who was a career comedian, Al Franken. He's certainly qualified to make decisions for all of us, even if one of his favorite things is to walk around wearing nothing but an adult diaper and a shirt. But, he votes for more largesse to the masses so he's a good guy, and the lilberals vote for him. He has a lot of other people in his party with the same qualifications.

  4. Harry,

I'm not surprised that this was done (cuts to military retiree's) all I gotta say is it reminds me of Rome, Ancient Egypt, and many, many other great civilizations of the past and the great mistakes that they made and how we are on the same path.

Congress and the Senate have no clue, they really have no clue. They so 'out of touch' with reality and so blind to what's building. The resentment and rage of the people in the flyover states, the gun owning masses, the 'Duck Dynasty Rednecks'
The good ole' boys, the hillbillies, the ranchers, the farmers, the factory workers, the welders, the oil drillers and all the normal everyday Americans and especially many of the military are just plumb fed up.
When things boil over it will be like dam bursting and billions of tons of hate and resentment letting loose and the chaos will be epic.

(I wish I had $300.000 for a decked out 50 foot sailboat so I can bail out)

By the way Harry' I don't know if you know about 3 percent patriots or any of their blogs. I find their blogs interesting and I learn a few things, however I am my own man' so I don't go following anyone. The Citadel Project they are working on is an interesting concept in Idaho. I don't know if if would work or not, however it is interesting. It is based somewhat on the American Redoubt concept and what the writer of the popular 1980's survivalist books "Out of the Ashes" came up with (I read those books as a teenager back in the 1980's)
I am not an 'Anthropologist' but it would be interesting to 'observe and document' that community as it progresses to see if it turns out to be a viable community in the long term.
In one aspect, quite frankly. I hope they will pull it off, but knowing human nature. It may become fragmented in time.
The loser knit a society is with fewer rules. The more likely it will last long term.

    1. Might as well just enjoy the boat ride. The river is going to take us all where it's going, and there's not much we can do about determining the course. I have heard of these folks, but I thought their project had already failed.

  6. It seems pretty lame to me to cut back on benefits for the veterans. If anybody earned them, they did. Now a bunch of sit on your ass at home politicians are voting to take the benefits away. Washington is a rats nest.
