Word verification is off

I turned off the spam filter. It means I will probably miss some comments from people who like to comment anonymously, because I will get a lot of spam and though I try to check all the anonymous comments to see if they are legitimate, sometimes I miss one.

However, I know it's aggravating and since Kymber wants it turned off, and I am glad to find out she and J are still alive, I will turn it off.

Am I a great guy , or what?

  1. Oh so only kymber's opinion matters? I see

Verification sucks ASS. Everyone knows if you comment on an old post it might never get seen or answered and getting rid of spam comments is so easy now. I just deleted 250 or so a few minutes ago.

    1. I'm obsessive about answering comments. So when I go to my email, I have some anonymous comments and I have to read them all. Most of them will be those things that are just jumbles of words, and then have a blog address at the bottom. I don't understand the point, because surely nobody ever actually goes to a blog that does that.

I'm always easy to manipulate when it comes to women. My wife has been doing that for 32 years so I'm used to it.

The very weakness that allowed our civilization to crumble into what we have today and why the barbarians no longer respect Western Men. Not really your fault though the Babyboomer men were brought up under one set of rules while the women were throwing those rules away. By the time true colors began showing it was too late for the men. Trouble is those men were also the only ones in a position to stop it.

It's been the next two generations of men who have had to pay the price for it though.

    3. Hell, I just like women. I LOVE women. I loved as many of them as I could before I got married. ;-)

I like to make them happy.

If a good looking FBI female agent ever asks me to rat you out..........pack your bags!

    4. LOL and if you really knew them and paid attention to what they actually do more than what they say and claim you would know that nothing makes em crazier than ignoring them and be hard to manipulate.

Then again I understand the old guys didn't have to know this and were quite happy selling their sons out.

Just wait till there is no one to take care of you :)

    5. I'll die before my wife, most husbands do, so I will have someone to take care of me in my dotage.

You better be nice to yours, though, or she'll abscond with some 27 year old surfer and you will be all alone. Just you and the Sheep. That's a scary thought. :-O

    6. I wasn't talking about your wife. I was talking about all the younger people and minorities who will get to decide if all the old babyboomers who stiffed us really deserve social security. My guess is another three to five years and the numbers will be right they will abolish it.

All the young White boys have been kept out of the real job market, those who survived the clinic floor anyway and all these Mexicans aren't gonna pay for old White people's retirement I assure you. The best thing that can be hoped for is a collapse soon or what we morph into is gonna be worse.

    7. listen PP...i love you - i really do! and for the most part - you are dead on the money! but there are those of us, women, if you will, that don't fall for any of this femi-nazi bullcrap! i have told you this a million times and so have so many others...but it;s like you are in with the MSM - you don't want to hear it. we are out there, we are supporting our men...and all men, like you and especially men like Harry...who was born out of our generation but men who we should support and stand behind.

please PP - stop trying to cause a divide, and start driving women, who openly espouse our views to men like Harry's blog - that is what i am trying to do.

and don't ever try to lump me in with modernist views of male and female jobs. why that there is quite the reason for me to put on my boots and come down there for a visit. and pp, i would love to visit you. just not under those circumstances. you understand, my brother? i love you with all of my heart, bro! xoxoxo

  2. PP - yer just jealous that you weren't born i Harry's age...and that's ok. Harry was born in an age when being a gentleman was still considered "du rigueur". Harry will understand this but you are too young. so sorry for your landing in the world when you did.

some women have never been feminists, myself included, but we are few and far between. but we are out there, in numbers that you can't imagine. and we love men who are men. nothing more needs to be said.

i love you and Harry like there is no tomorrow. and i am afraid that we are at the point of no tomorrow. knowing that i have jamby, you and harry at my side....bring it on. because i can handle it

much love to all of my personal favourite friends. whom i will count on when it all falls to crap. your friend,
    kymber

    1. Kymber dear. They don't have to be feminist at all. In fact the ones who are not feminist deep down are the ones who pull the manipulation trick best. They are always more convincing when there is a bit of truth in it :)

Nine times out of ten though it is a shit test and the men get more points by failing than passing.

However online the best way to deal with it is to assume everyone is male until proven otherwise :)

    10. Be careful you don't hurt her feelings. Remember, without body language or voice inflection she might not know you are joking. You seem to be a bit touchy tonight.

    14. sorry guys....just getting back to this. i know that PP was just being his usual, uncharming self....i can handle him. if he ever gets too out of line, he knows that i will get the boots out. in fact, sometimes i think he is half praying that he will say something for me to get the boots out. i told y'all - he's just a nutter! bahahahah!

    1. Well, Tania, that makes at least four people in the world who think so. You, my wife, Kymber and me! All those people around here that think I am a mean, self control challenged, vengeful , dangerous eccentric are just wrong.

    2. don't forget to count jambaloney and 2 of my cats....the third cat, the one you were holding hostage....well, his feelings are slightly hurt as you can understand.

  4. Harry - From the sounds of it PP is having a bad day.

I'm of your era - or should that be our era?

Personally, there is nothing wrong with us - reckon we can still teach the young'uns a thing or two.

You're special Harry - caring, thoughtful, eloquent and a male who isn't afraid to express himself by hiding behind macho stuff ;)

    1. Dani,
we all have bad days. I have so many foibles of my own I try not to get my back up over other people's. He's a good guy at heart and has been a friend for a good long while.

  5. Spam is frustrating. I have all the comments sent to my email. I have to verify them all before they are published. I found this to be the easiest way for me. Anymore I just read them through my email more than my blog. I know what post they are coming from because it tells me in the subject line of the email. The spam sticks out because it wants to direct you to another page, or has cuss words in the comment. I delete it before it even gets posted.

    1. Alissa,

My spam filter catches most of it, but it still lets the messages all get into my in box. They just say "anonymous" for the sender. Usually, the really old posts they refer to are a dead giveaway, but I still open them because it might be a real comment. I tried the verify process but it had the same problem that the little number codes do. It aggravated some of the people who have been coming here a lot. One guy, who is one of my oldest blog friends, dating all the way back to my old "Hermit" blog, won't comment at all if there is any type of spam filter or verification on it. So I guess I will just have to keep deleting and reading. I would like to know why people go to the trouble of doing that spam thing. Surely nobody ever gained a reader by spaming them, and as you say, some of them are just obscene messages. What does the person who originated those gain?

  6. Harry,

I turned off word verifications a while ago and haven't had a problem. Every once and a while I get a post that comes through and have to delete it. The post will be related to advertisement or an off the wall site.

    1. My email is getting a lot of spam again. Most of it seems to be keying on just two old posts. I wonder if I deleted them if that might help.
