No more Mr. Nice Guy

I tried letting leftards express their opinions here, but they don't have opinons. They have no logic. About all they've got is brainless insults and I'm sick of it.  To hell with them, and with what they think. Several people warned me against my "more measured" approach and they were right, I was wrong.

I enabled comment moderation and it stays on. I'm not posting any more idiotic mouth breather comments.

I'll just chalk it up to an experiment that failed, though I'm old enough to have known better in the first place.

There's no way to have a meaningful exchange with Liberals. They're too disconnected with the real world. As Tevye says in "Fiddler on the Roof, " a bird could love a fish, but where would they live?" Trying to talk with them is a waste of breath and I'm not going to try anymore.

  1. I saw that pile of verbal sewage the linguini spined anonymous coward left on your last post. No need to give them a platform to vent their mindless rage. No need to tolerate the abuse. I believe it was Thatcher that sad, "The trouble with liberals is they know so much that juts isn't so".

    1. I recall that you were one of those who warned me trying to communicate with leftards was doomed to failure. You were right. There's no middle ground, there's no making compromises with them. Either they prevail and we all become mindless drones servicing the federal government, or we do and some semblance of American life remains.

"Eat more recycled food. It's good for the government and it's OK for you."

    2. M. Silvas, it was actually Ronald Reagan who made that remark. Classic!

    3. Classic, it was actually Ronald Reagan who made that classic quote. Here's the whole quote: "The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so."

  2. It was nice of you to try. The problem is, there's just no way to be fair to unfair people.

    1. You are kind, but the truth is it was stupid of me to try. I must be in my dotage.

It was like trying to reason with Hitler, the harder you try the deeper in the B.S. you get. Your one sentence sums it up succinctly.

  3. Hey Harry,

    (captaincrunch)

It was worth a try. I have a liberal friend that was starting to lean to the right. Now he's did a hard shift to the left again. His statement to me earlier tonight "Yeah' I will let them have their gay marriage, as long as get to keep my guns"

Appeasment is something I am not fond of. Being a gun owner, collector and liberal is like working at a suicide hotline during the day and working with Dr. Kevorkian at night. I fail to see his logic.

I fear our friendship may wither and die.

You tried to develop a dialog Harry with others that obviously don't have the capacity and courtesy to allow others to have dissenting opinions. As with my friend my dissenting opinions are of course the opposite of what his opinions are and we are finding less and less common ground.

In the future hard choices will have to be made.

I have lost friends because we either grew apart or our ways in life have become radically different and no common ground could be found.

I chose a path and way of life that is far from ordinary. I have to stay true to my beliefs and way of life for me to be happy and prosper. I see things others don't see in society, or they refuse to see out of fear.

Another friend who I have known since high school and retired from the Coast Guard after 20 years said this about facing an ugly situation.

"Sometimes you just gotta get up and off the toilet and look at it"

Its crude, primitive and funny but it makes sense.

Facing hard facts, hard realities and hard choices ain't easy.

    1. I've put away my flower drum, I'm not trying to understand them anymore. A rattlesnake may have a point of view but the primary concern from my perspective is that he wants to bite me.

    2. Harry, I know you meant well but you can't argue with insanity. They simply ignore way too many facts and make up the rest of the garbage they spew because it is what makes them feel good. At a base level they are simply infantile. Like a child throwing a hissy fit cause he don't get his way. It don't mater what you say, they are incapable of reasoning, so they will piss on everyone that don't flat out agree with them and march to their myopic goosestep. So they revert to insults and name calling. Like Narcissus in DC, the world to them is about themselves. Facts, consequences and results don't matter, only their feelings count. That is why they rely on intentions and not actual results and consequences. Molly-coddling them and saving them from the consequences of their own behavior is a mistake and only encourages more of the same aberrant behavior. No need to allow them a platform on your page. Now what Ann Coulter said was a clear response to the muslim violence in the name of islam we see everyday in the news. It was in fact a bit tongue in cheek, but the moonbats can't grasp that and with an overt purpose choose to ignore the brutality that is perpetrated in the name of that demonic religion. Choose the subject, any one of the myriad of causes they are inclined to and they will respond with equal rage. The astounding part is they keep coming back to a page that they profess they vehemently disagree with. This should tell you something about their disconnection from reality.

    3. What you say is true. I would enjoy a frank and open exchange of views but clearly I'm not going to find it on the internet. These people don't seem to be capable of a rational discussion. I'm not going to waste my time on them anymore. It does worry me that nonfunctional individuals like these are essentially running the United States right now, and I believe they will continue to do so until the whole creaky edifice crumbles. When that happens they will all be dead instead of a week. Without the artificial womb society provides them with now they'll have to live in the real world and they'll go the way of the dodo in short order.

  4. My problem is, too often I want to call them out. Then I regret it afterwords, because you are of course correct about the fact that you cannot reason with them at all.

My apologies, must be that Celtic in me. --T

    1. I think, Troy, that in the back of my mind there was always the thought that maybe these people simply were products of the system, that they weren't capable of original thought and could only parrot back the mental pablum they were taught as children. I know from teaching that the public school system here is primarily about instilling socialists values in kids and not about giving them skills like reading and math. But even if that's the case, most of them are too far gone by now to bring back. They are really and truly mindless zombies, and just as dangerous.

  5. Hey Harry,

    Cobra 29 LTD radio update:

The Cobra I paid $35.00 for works great. I hooked it up to the big antenna and it still only could reach out five miles, whereas the Ranger was ten miles at least. The reception capability on the Cobra acted like it just 'dropped off a cliff' at five miles and the person I was talking too was completely unintelligible at one or two pounds signal strength.
The Ranger reception is so good that I could clearly understand what the other person was saying at two pounds, and almost unintelligible at one pound. My rough estimate is that the Ranger has at least 'Twice the range' as the Cobra as per reception goes.

    1. Down there where it's flat you ought to get some pretty good range off your ground wave. Up here, the ground wave probably travels about 100 feet.

  6. My husband argues facts with them but they fight back with name calling and emotion, nothing to back up their stance. They hide their heads in the sand when you bring up concrete evidence, as if it didn't exist.

    1. Kathy, that's as accurate and concise a synopsis of the liberal mind set as I've ever seen. For myself, I'm through talking with them, or giving them the chance to disrupt my blog with their infantile behavior. One thing I've noticed over the years, liberals tend to argue as if the world as it "should be" is the world we really live in. They genuinely believe inane things like "love a terrorist and he will love you." They are, bluntly speaking, fools.
