Hypocrites, Oligarchs, and Glock 19 magazines.

A lot of the Republican establishment is adopting the "I'll hold my breath til I turn blue" mantra. Such notable scions of the party  as the Bush brothers and  their daddy , as well as Ryan, Graham, et al are saying they "can't support Trump" and " I won't vote for Trump."  Strange, since all these people demanded he sign a "loyalty pledge" early in the campaign, stipulating he would support the ultimate nominee. At first glance, this seems foolish since they are going to hand the Presidency to Clinton, But you have to remember, the good of the country and the wishes of the Republican base are not big considerations with the inside crew.

What does matter is making sure they stay on top.  Trump isn't a player with these people. It isn't about money.

It's more like a rich Yankee trying to join a county club in the South when I was a little boy. It wasn't going to happen because that person just wasn't part of the network. If you weren't part of the system, you weren't joining the club. Besides, when Hillary wins, the Party will sit back and blame it on the plebeians, who didn't do as they were told. Things will get much, much worse for Joe and Jane ,  but there won't be any negative impact on the Bush family or any of the other insiders. They'll have the same perks, the same extravagant lifestyle. Remember when George the First went into a grocery store and expressed his astonishment at how grocery scanners worked?

Lincoln Perry, whose character "Stepin Fetchit" made him famous.

These folks don't live in the same world as the rest of us do. Well, let Achilles sulk in his tent.  I'd rather we all went down the drain fighting the bosses, than slaved on playing the part of Stepin Fetchit.

On the plus side, I got an email from Centerfire Systems. They were having a big sale on Glock magazines.

I noticed they were selling the Korean made Glock 19 magazines for $5.00 each, new in the package.
I've put a lot of rounds through my Glock 22 using these mags, and found them to be top flight. My guns are all first generation, so if anybody has later production they should be fine with these.

I am not a big Glock fan, but I have some anyway.  After all, the Gunny says to buy them!

And you know, the Gunny is always right.

  1. We listened to an interview done by the Wall street journal, dang if I can rememeber the names but I do remeber what the man who was bing interviewed said about Trump. Roughly translated he thought if any Candidate understood the economy it was Trump and the economy is in terrible shape. How would the GOP Powers that be know that??????They are rich and trained in doing whats best for self and fellow politico's.

    Hillary terrifies us!

    1. Fiona, I'll tell you what I think is going to happen. We have had eight years of Barack Hussein. Immigration, both legal and illegal, has increased at an unbelievable rate. Government spending has increased though we are so deeply in debt we can never pay ourselves out of the hole. Crime has gone sky high and the police are demoralized and unable to recruit new officers. The military has been gutted, and Islamic Terrorists are gaining in reach and power daily. The middle class is being taxed out of existence, and for the first time ever, young people have less chance of a quality of life equal to their parents. Europe has been inundated with Moslems, and we all know what that leads to. The U.S. is about to be.

Now Clinton will have eight years to finish the job. She is more dangerous than Obama, because he is stupid, but she is intelligent. She will be far more successful in stamping out people like you and I, and she's motivated to do it. She's interested in more than golf and vacations in Hawaii. I don't know how to prepare for the tribulations she will bring, because I know she has plans that will reach me even out here in the mountains. We are in for some hard times, worse than we have known before and that's really saying something given our past.

    2. Harry, wow did you ever hit the nail on the head...she is not stupid... nor a groomed puppet like Obama. Stay safe on your mountain. God Keep you and your family safe.

    3. Fiona, I deleted that troll. I tried to leave your comment but the reply function apparently linked it and did away with yours. I go through and delete those white trash people regularly. Sorry he picked on you. I will probably have to go back to moderated comments because I don't want to expose people that come here to perverts.

  2. Harry, you are absolutely spot on. Eight years of Obama were a walk in the park compared to what Clinton can and will do to folks like you and me. I don't think there is anything we can do to prevent it. All I can think to do is keep on preparing and more importantly, keep my family close.

    1. I think it's going to be similar to what Germans experienced living under National Socialism. Every single facet of life was in some way or other impacted by the totalitarian regime. No one was untouched by it. No one was safe, and the quality of life deteriorated dramatically over time to a catastrophic nadir.

  3. I agree with you Harry. It scares me so much, especially when I think about my grandchildren. What else can we do? I have followed all the advice-get out of debt, store up food and water, have a place to grow a garden and seeds, have ways to defend yourself, live away from big cities, etc.,etc. Whenever I go to the store, I always think, "what if this is my last shopping trip?"
I know that you are not a religious man, but years ago, during the first Bush presidency, I heard a Christian prophecy that when America fell, a woman would be president. I have always remembered that and wonder about Hillary, even though I use the term "woman" very loosely for her.
We all must encourage our friends/family to vote for Trump, even though he is not my ideal candidate. Maybe it is conspiracy thinking, but I would not doubt, for a moment, that the election will be rigged to give Hil the victory. Jana

    1. Jana, I'm not the vehement agnostic I was. I am more open to the possibility that there may indeed be things that exist but can't be proven.

I think that the ruling cabal, whichever party the individual member may ostensibly belong to, will insure that the popular vote is rendered superfluous. All the news channels and the big newspapers are redoubling their screeds against Trump, and now they are singling out the Trump supporters for ridicule.

    2. Harry-I hope I did not offend you; I certainly did not mean to do so. Please accept my apologies. I have a lot of respect for you and have learned much through your blog. No disrepect intended. Jana

    3. Jana, you didn't offend me at all! I had a little trouble wording my response because I am unsure myself about what I do believe. I have been struggling with the fact that there either really is some kind of sentient order in the universe, or I have been having a run of good luck that would be statistically unlikely. I am sorry I was so clumsy as to worry you. You are a very nice person and I don't think that you could hurt my feelings even if you tried. It's just not your style.

  4. Glad you found some deals. I gave read that book about the great flu epidemic of 1918. I always like to read things about that fly because my grandfather was orphaned from it and also lost several siblings. There is a good pbs documentary on it too which I got from the library.

    1. I am constantly going through incoming email from companies I do business with. Sometimes a real bargain will materialize and I buy, even though I might not need the item at that exact moment. It may come in handy in the future.

Back when the H1N1 virus was around I did a considerable amount of reading on pandemics. That book was one of the most informative.

  5. I don't know if Trump is the real deal or not, but there is no other choice. The Hildebeast cannot be allowed to be president! You know, although we have had trouble with Korean mags not feeding when fully loaded for our Glock 19, we took a look at the Centerfire website and could not pass up those mags for 5 bucks. So we ordered some. Thanks for the heads up.

    1. I never fully load a magazine, just an old habit. Sorry the magazines did not function well for you. What was the problem. Trying a different weight bullet and a different powder might help.

    2. The ones I have are really rough inside and did not want to feed. Of course, they may just need more wear and use. Just have to shoot more. (grin)

  6. I'm surprised that I had not run across Center Fire Systems before. There prices are excellent, and Lord knows you can never have enough spare magazines.

    1. I have been buying gun parts, accessories, and ammo from them for many years. They have always treated me right. I got Finnish gas masks, with all the accoutrements, for 20 dollars each, in unissued condition.

I believe in buying quickly and in quantity when a really good deal comes up. I anticipate another, far more stringent Clinton gun ban in the near future. During the last one magazines like these ran sixty dollars each, if you could even find them.

  7. I'm afraid that we will, indeed, end up with Hillary. Then again, God has always promised to curse those nations that turn away from Him.

    1. I can't think of anything that would qualify as a curse more than having to live under that evil witch's thumb. It was hellish enough under her buffoon of a husband.

  8. It's not about Democrats or Republicans. It's about insiders and outsiders. Hillery is an insider.

I've got serious doubts about the shape of the country come winter. It looks to me like it will be a bad time indeed.

    1. That's succinctly and accurately put. People should prepare for an onslaught of new laws and diktats with detrimental results for people who are not hive dwellers and good drones. Justice and right won't enter into it.

Many of Ragnar Benson's books will have new relevance.

  9. I was really disappointed in the .40 Korean Glock mags. None of the ones I tried wold drop free when loaded, and even unloaded many of them would fail to drop.

    1. Tooshooz had some problems with them as well. Yet my Glock 22 works perfectly with them. My gun is a first generation formerly Detroit police issue. It was refurbished by Glock at the factory before I bought it.

    2. Funny..I had one of those DPD surplus .40's too.

  10. 5 bucks for a magazine seems so cheap. I hate to imagine how much that would be over here if it was legal!

    1. It's a very good price. During the Clinton gun ban the same magazine would have brought up to sixty dollars assuming you could find one. As Tim remarked earlier, you can never have too many magazines.

  11. Your right, its all about being in the network or part of their crew. I never liked Jeb Bush when we lived in Florida and now you are seeing his true colors of acting like a brat. I still do not understand why Lindsey Graham here in SC? Now for Mr Speaker, he sure has turned out to be a big ole pile of horse &^#%. I say we fire all of them.

    1. I concur. I'd like to punch Graham right in his pasty little face for the comments he made sucking up to "Black Lives Matter" last year. The guy is a waste of air. The whole crew need to be replaced with real human beings.
