Living in Troubled Times.
A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within.
Hey Harry,(captaincrunch)I never did like that dingbat Katie curic. She's just another yankee news whore! The left only has one true agenda on gun control and that's confiscation. There is no educating the left or talking with them or dealing with them on the subject. What is saving us is the gun culture of America and its history with firearms as well as personal protection.'Make no mistake in future years the political tied will turn and the political gloves will come off and we will be in a massive fight for the Second Amendment that will 'dwarf' the fight in 2012.This is a cultural and multi-generational political battle going on right now. We need to teach and instruct our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren on the Constitution and shooting sports. The younger generation needs to learn hunting and self defense as well as personal responsibility if we are too have the 'Right to Bear Arms' in the future. As everyone probably knows I don't have any children but I can at least influence others to take their kids and grandkids out to the gun range and pass on the heritage. Also, don't be greedy. Buy your kid a gun if they are responsible. Guns are expensive and younger people shoot less because of that fact or they cant afford guns when they are first starting out in life.I have seen a few liberal minded younger people change their minds on guns once they first get out to the range. Then they find out that the can actually own a gun and they are really surprised. 'Next they go out and buy a gun and 'bingo' the seed of a conservative has taken root.
I am sure you are right concerning the overall intent of the left to emasculate American citizens by leaving them defenseless. It will never happen, but they are stupid enough to try.We spent public money here to build a shooting range for the 4H kids. Clearly the people of this county agree with your sentiments on guns and young people. I certainly do.
When I was a kid, many 10 & 12 year olds got .22 rifles for birthdays and Christmas. Country kids, farm and ranch kids. We were taught American history, and living back east, the Revolutionary War was a big deal. The Second Amendment was there not for personal defense or sport or plinking. It was put there so that citizens could defend themselves from a tyrannical government. Period. The Obama administration is a case in point. Citizens were armed with the same weapons the govt had, too. Since we don't teach history anymore, most people are ignorant of the true meaning or our right to keep and bear arms. Young people are our future....we must educate them every chance we get. The left wing media is in bed with the globalists that want to see us disarmed and defenseless. They use honeyed words and slick phrases so we let down our guard and allow gun control and confiscation by stealth. "for public safety". Our gun rights are slowly being eroded by laws limiting ammo or magazine capacity, or some other stupid liberal brain fart. CoffeeInjection is right. We will rise up to keep our gun rights...it is what sets us apart from the rest of the world.
The number of hunters has decreased dramatically in the last few decades. Cowboy Action Shooting has really grown, so that off sets the loss to an extent. I don't know if more or fewer people are buying guns these days, but I do know more people are fearful of them than ever before. The Sheeple are multiplying. It may not be a matter of a conscious decision to give up guns, it may be the frog in the slowing boiling water scenario. I guess we'll have to play out our string and leave it to the follow on's to handle that.
May 2017 was the biggest gun buying month in history, surpassing even the Obama years. There are more Patriots and awake conservatives than ever, I think. Women are really getting into the act and are buying firearms and learning how to use them. Gun manufacturers are catering to them, too. Rural folks like us are not fooled one bit. Around here, hunting is still a big thing. Stores actually close during hunting season...and we all know it and get what we need beforehand. Gone Hunting signs are all over the place. Nah, Harry, don't be fooled by fake statistics. Gun owners are alive, well and growing. You know the American mindset....tell us we can't have something and we want it more. lol, lol.
That's good to hear. I guess it's like everything else these days. About half the population is pro Second Amendment, and the other half hates them vehemently. It's like there are really two countries now, with completely different cultures. I wonder how long things can go on like this, especially since the other side doesn't respect law, morality, honesty, or any traditional beliefs or values. They don't believe in tolerating people who don't agree with them.
that's my buds the vcdl that sued her. crazy judge ruling. we will be appealing the verdict. he basically said that he didn't like the answer that was edited out so the editing was okay. kinda like trumps travel ban is legal, but they don't like trump.even the courts are lawless now. matter of time now. carry on mr. flashman. btw, i know or have met many more that remember beruit too.semper fi. "all she wants to do is dance"
I am beginning to detest the courts as much as I do the Democratic Party and their adherents. The courts are becoming political apparatus for thwarting the opponents of "the party." It seems like Beirut is just a footnote to history now. I'm glad more people remember it than I thought. I always remember it. I was a staff officer from the NATO side of Sixth Fleet and I spent a lot of time off shore, but a good bit ashore at the Marine Base. I was an outsider, but I made some good friends there and I hate it that it just seems like all those guys are just forgotten now. It was such a mess, such a waste, and for no good reason. The people who caused the disaster were not effected by it. The Iranians never got paid out for the bombing, and that makes it hard to put in the past too.
