Soros and Sauron. The Wonderful Wizard of London.

Makes you wonder.  Tolkien got the story pretty straight if you substitute Soros for Sauron, and Islamists for Orcs.  Sauron used magic rings, Soros uses his money.   Orcs and Islamists seem to be pretty much the same to me.  When you think about it, Schumer, Obama, Clinton H, Clinton B, Pelosi , Feinstein , Waters, McCaine, and Graham are probably Ring Wraiths.   It's more fun to read the books than to live in the reality.

Meanwhile, in Germany, there are some who resist.

Germany's anti-immigrant party shows unexpected strength.

I wrote a post once on the Moslem mayor of London, a guy with a big mouth and an apologist for Islamic terror.  I got a huge number of comments, about 3/4 of which were rants from snowflakes about what a wonderful man the mayor is, and how terrible a person I am.  I was gratified that it made so many of these twits mad.

But here the same guy is on a recent OAN segment.  He hasn't changed.  But then,  he shares the same motto as Alfred E. Neuman.  "What, me worry?"

I take this business about the Islamic flood coming into America a lot more seriously since they actually started showing up in our rural county.  Considering something on a philosophical level is a lot different than dealing with it on the ground.

We plan on going to the lake to walk in a little while. The leaves are starting to change so I'll take my camera and see if I can get some good pictures. These photos are the lake during the fall in years past.

This is the "little" lake at the state park, about 15 minutes drive from my house.  The "big" lake at the top of the county is much larger, but it's a longer drive so we don't go up there much.

It's not flannel shirt weather yet, but it's getting a lot cooler and it won't be long.  After the third week of October, the population here gets cut in half as the part time residents head back to Florida. My wife and I drove by a little recreational vehicle park on a lake, and we saw that lots of the snowbirds had already left. I guess they went home to see about repairing their full time places in Florida. At least with those big motor coach RV's they have a decent place to live while the repair work goes on.

Psssst! Hey, Buddy.  Wanna buy some .308?

Midway has Malaysian 7.62X51  , 540 rounds in cardboard boxes, in the can for $250.00 plus shipping. Not really all that good a deal because shipping will probably run you in the neighborhood of twenty dollars or more.  It's advertised as Boxer primed, which makes it a lot more desirable as long as you realize the primers are staked and you need a swage to punch out the primer pocket to reload it.

I know other people have other ways of doing it, but it's hard enough with the right gear.

Midway is advertising it as .308 Winchester, which to all intents and purposes it is. But you can never mention .308 Winchester and 7.61X51 in the same breath without setting off an uproar about minuscule differences between the two.

So: Here are two different articles on that issue:

Ammo Land: .308 Winchester vs. NATO 7.62

Fulton Armory .308 Winchester and 7.62X51

Just ordered two cans of World War 2 bore cleaner, thanks to Taminator giving me a heads up on where to find it. I appreciate it very much.

    1. I just checked it on my laptop, and it pulled up ok with Chrome. I don't know whats's going on, unless it's some kind of browser problem. My son will probably know, I will ask him next time we talk on the hone.

It's always good to know how to make something yourself that you might need. You can never be sure when the commercial version of anything will just disappear.

  4. Just finished a new book by Jonathan Cahn, "The Paradigm". It was so eye opening and a great read. I think it's one you'd like.

    1. I have not heard of that one, but I will check with my library and see if they can get it for me. I appreciate the recommendation. These days, I have plenty of time to read but often not enough ideas on new books.

    1. I pulled it up on my desk top , using the Chrome browser with no trouble. Michael got the same message you did, but he did a cut and paste with the link url and it came up for him at that point. I'm not sure what the deal is.

  7. This link has the "formula" for your bore cleaner:

    http://forums.thecmp.org/showthread.php?t=19049

Roughly 60% antifreeze, 20% kerosene, 10% Oleic acid (a component of vegetable oil) and traces of other chemicals.

    1. Michael up in Maine sent me a similar link. I'd heard of people making their own, but have never tried it. I've bought guns and ammo both from the CMP but haven't been to their web page in a long time. I should swing by and check on the status of those M1 Garands coming in from the Philippines.

  8. I've seen the Malaysian .308 for sale several places; the cheapest I've seen is sgammo.com, 540 rounds for $200, comes to 40 cents per round delivered. I assume somebody imported a bunch of it and then wholesaled it to a number of online sellers. I've seen some other smaller lots of foreign milsurp .308 or 7.62x51; I hope we are finally seeing a price drop in it. Most of my stock I bought several years ago for 40 cents or less, but I haven't seen any brass case for less than 50 cents plus shipping in several years.

    1. I'm pretty sure you are right. I was waiting around to see if Sportsman's Guide got any, because they sometimes offer free shipping, but it hasn't shown up on their web page yet.

I have a lot of Australian and Venezuelan 7.62X51, plus a good bit of Indian 7.2X51. That latter had a shaky reputation, and some of it I just pulled the bullets.
