Spartan Up.

I'm waiting to hear more about the shooter in Las Vegas.  Seems very strange to me that the guy picked a country western venue, one that would be filled with people likely to be Trump supporters. No one has said anything at all about the individual so far, but I wonder what the similarities between him and the D.C. shooter might be.

When I first heard the report the shooter had an automatic weapon, I told my wife it was very unlikely. I thought it was just someone pulling a trigger fast. But the videos being shown on the news  are definitely reflecting an automatic weapon.

But how can that be? It's illegal for Joe Citizen to possess an automatic weapon without clearing extensive government hurdles.  And certainly it's inconceivable that this lunatic had an illegal weapon. Why, that would be illegal!

I wait with great interest to see what comes out of the search the law enforcement people are conducting at the shooter's residence right now.  Maybe he was just a lunatic, since the news is saying he was "known to police." It's not likely he was an islamist, but given who he chose as a target, his motivation may have been political.

Here we go again.

Hillary Clinton is already blaming the NRA for what happened.  Other Democratic politicians are bleating the same tune in unison.  I am always amazed at the stupidity these people display. "Let's make a law against gun ownership. That will solve the problem of criminals using guns, as they will surely obey our laws."

In other news, the march of Islam continues:

Canada had an Islamic terror attack this weekend.  A Somali who came in as a refugee went on a stabbing and "run 'em over" spree.

Terror Attack in Edmonton.

And there was another attack in France, with a knife wielding Islamic "Immigrant" carving up people in Marseilles. He managed to injure a number of pedestrians and kill two young women before a soldier shot him dead. ISIS is lauding the killer as a member of their organization.

I think this  kind of thing is just going to keep on going on. What can you do but avoid crowds and stay situationally aware all the time?  A concealed carry permit wouldn't have helped anyone in Vegas, since the shooter was apparently up in a window on the 32nd floor of a high rise hotel. No pistol I know of is going to stop something like that.

I notice the black guy walking into a white church and shooting everybody up just got a brief clip this past week, if it got that at all. The shooter left a "manifesto" in his vehicle, announcing his actions were "revenge" for the Charleston church shootings. Doesn't seem to matter , since he was black and the victims were white. Also, there's the awkward fact that the shooter was a new "immigrant" from Sudan. Don't want to be racist and mention that.

What can we do?

  1. i've heard enough mg fire to say there were two or more during some of it. i suspect the old guy was the oswald of this event. they'll likely never show the gun, like sandy hook.

  2. I have absolutely no hope that the main stream media will tell the truth about what happened out there. I'm waiting for the small news outfits, like OAN, to do the research and put out the facts.

With the echoes coming off other buildings, I wasn't sure but it did seem to me you could hear at least two weapons on auto. It seem to me this is likely to be another James Hodgkin. There are some eerie similarities already in what I've heard on the news. If a crazy wanted to kill Trump supporters, this would be a good way to do it. If a crazy wanted to just kill people, he could have walked into a casino, would have been easier and cheaper. I guess we'll have to wait and see what shakes out of this.

  3. Definitely fully auto fire. Either he modified his rifle's mechanism (illegal), or he got the rifle on the black market (illegal). But no matter, the guy was white, and so the attacks on Trump supporters will begin in 3, 2, 1...

And while people are still bleeding, that disgusting pig Hillary Clinton couldn't wait to attack the second amendment. It's always all about her, that shameless narcissist. Never let a crisis go to waste!

My condolences to the people of Vegas, many of them family and friends. --Troy

    1. Troy, I heard from a friend that the news is now saying the guy had some kind of ties to radical islam. Of course, that could just be a reporter trying to get more air time.

It's always a given that when something like this happens, the leftards will spew their bile about it being the fault of the Trump supporters. Of course, when some moslem pulls a pulse night club or a San Bernadino, that's not the fault of the Deminazis, it's all about guns. Even though we've been through this cycle so many times, it still makes me nauseous, listening to the snowflakes and moonbats play the old broken record.

I guess we'll have to wait and see how this plays out. Whether the guy was just a garden variety lunatic, or politically motivated, or an Islamist tool, no one will ever convince me that he didn't have reasons for choosing that target, difficult and expensive as it was to do it.

    2. The FBI always state that there is no connection to ISIS. Think about that Orlando nightclub shooting. Old Macdonald had a farm sorry ISIS say the shooter [Omar Mateen] was a member of ISIS (got it right this time) and Omar Mateen said he was a member of ISIS. But the FBI, the media, and Obanner all said “nothing at all to do with the followers of Mohamerhead”.

    3. That's true. I don't give the FBI much credibility myself. However, right now MSM is studiously avoiding any discussion of any aspect of this that might embarrass the leftards. I had to listen to Juan Williams on Fox trying to turn this into another gun control argument, although thankfully the other panel members pretty well shut down his driveling idiot routine.

I am betting the guy is a copy cat shooter, basing himself on the D.C. shooter. However, if it turns out he was manipulated by Islamists, I am prepared to believe that.

What I won't accept is that a retired accountant, with a nice home, two airplanes, a nice girlfriend, and all the other trimings just one day decided to go out and slaughter a crowd of random people. Then he armed up, set up in a hotel room, waited there for days, and the executed the attack for no reason. Nope, won't buy that one. And that's the scenario all the MSM outfits are pushing hammer and tongs this afternoon.

  4. This guy is what gives owning a gun(s) a bad taste in some people's mouths.

Now they are saying there is ties to Isis with him. His family is from here. In fact he has a brother that lives in Florida. His brother was clueless about what happened. He was really in shock.

It makes me wonder how a person can turn so rapidly? Robbie Hawkins that was involved in the mall shooting here back in 2005 grew up in and out of the foster care system. I get why he was a wack job. Maybe there's more info that will come up on this killer.

I had one sort of friend there. She went to my elementary, middle and high schools. She got out safe.

    1. Alissa, someone else sent me an email saying that the shooter is being tied to Islam now, and now you have heard it too. I haven't watched the news since about nine this morning, but will check it out. I would be surprised, since the guy is old and white, but I guess in these times nothing is off the table.

I know an ER nurse from a local hospital. Until I got to talking to her, I had no idea just how many mentally ill people are out there, and how little care there is for them. That may have been the problem here, who knows?

I'm glad your acquaintance got out of there unharmed. That's the kind of traumatic experience that makes you reevaluate life and how you live it.

    2. I saw the ties to Islam this morning: http://www.newsweek.com/isis-claims-las-vegas-shooting-says-stephen-paddock-converted-islam-675504

Now I saw this post about gambling: https://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/las-vegas-shooting/stephen-paddock-las-vegas-shooting-suspect-identified-n806471

I suppose it's possible it could be both, but unlikely. I'm thinking we'll have to wait for time to tell on this one.

His brother seemed very shocked! Like he didn't know his brother was troubled. If someone is depressed, or troubled, they don't always talk about it. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/stephen-paddock-las-vegas-shooting-latest-updates-brother-interview-eric-worst-american-history-a7978791.html

    3. There's a lot of confirmation now (Monday afternoon about five thirty) that ISIS did in fact immediately claim that Paddock had converted to Islam and had done this at their behest. The MSM networks are not reporting it, but the story is in a lot of newspapers like the New York Post. I'm going to be interested to see what's reported this evening on the MSM news shows. I just finished checking Fox, CNN and MSNBC are all of them are avoiding the issue completely.

CNN and MSNBC are avowing repeatedly, everywhere they can work it in, that the shooter was "not political" but I'd be surprised if that holds up.

You're right. People with severe emotional problems can seem fairly normal right up to the moment they go berserk.

    4. I'm not big into conspiracy theories, but I have trouble seeing that this guy fits the mass murderer profile. Part of me wonders if he was set up somehow. Like someone else killed him, and shot everyone that was shot. It just seems so fishy that his family was just as shocked as everyone else. He most certainly wasn't like The Sandy Hook, the Batman theater, or Westroads Mall shooters at all. It's all very bazar!

    5. Alissa, I'm sure you are right, there's a lot more to this story than the public is being told. There are just too many unanswered questions, and the party line MSM is putting out, that he did it but there's no reason why so let's move on, is bogus from the get go.

    1. No joke. It never will stop happening. The scale may be different most of the time, but the attacks will just keep on repeating themselves .

  6. As soon as the news started to come out, everyone gathered what few "facts" they could twist to fit their hot button issues. Makes it unlikely we'll get the full true picture any time soon -if ever.

As for my hot button issue, I'm betting on a history of mental health issues. Of course, unlike everyone else, I admit to having zero evidence.

    1. Speculation is bound to happen. It's a human behavior trait almost everybody demonstrates. I'm betting this shooter (or shooters) was a soft ball field shooter type. I'm hearing different things from different people. In the end, it will probably be some time before enough facts leak out from non MSM sources that any kind of accurate determination on the issue can be made.

No matter whether the guy turns out to be a Hillerite, a Moslem, or just a garden variety nut, you're bet is sure to win. All of those individuals are insane.

    1. There are a lot of news stories from outfits like the NY Post on the internet right now, drawing attention to the fact that ISIS immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, and has avowed that Paddock converted to Islam some time ago. I don't put a lot of faith in the FBI any more. There's no J.Edgar there, and the FBI of Efram Zimblast Jr has long deteriorated into a cozy political version of the KGB as far as I can see.

If his father had severe psychological problems, that may account for his actions. Right now I don't think anybody really knows anything. I still think the guy is a D.C. softball field shooter copy cat, myself.Time will tell, even if the news won't.

  8. The whole thing is just horrifying. I doubt that we will ever know the whole truth about the massacre. As I have mentioned before, we don't have satellite or cable, so I have to get my news from the internet. It seems that every morning when I pull up the news, there is always some tragedy, catastrophe or major news happening. Whatever happened to a slow news day? It also seems that events like this are occuring so often that people have become desensitized to these sort of things. The news talks on and on about it, but most people seem to accept it and go about their usual routine. I don't know-maybe it's just me. Jana

    1. No, I don't think it's just you. I think people are just getting used to it. There have been so many incidents in the last few years that people have adjusted their mental attitudes to accept these acts as part of life. The cliche phrase is "the new normal."

I think a lot more will come out as the dust settles. For one think, this fellow had a Philipina girl friend, from a part of the Philippine Islands that has a big problem with Moslem terrorists. She just happens to be there when the shooting goes on, though the neighbors say the shooter and his girl friend had been together for several years and were "inseparable." I haven' heard any denials from MSM that the fellow was a convert to Islam. Nor do I believe that he was apolitical. I'm waiting to see what else comes out of the investigations. I am discounting almost all the news from MSM, including Fox which has Juan Williams and "Lil Shep" Smith working overtime blaming guns , and the President.

We do live in interesting times.

  9. 1. Sorry for the loss of live in Vegas. 2. Glad The Bitch (Hillary) isn't President. 3. I'm rethinking the "buying more magazines" especially the MagPul Drum. 4. Chicago has so many gun laws and look at how well it works there "Chicago passes 1,000 gunshot victims for 2017" (www.guns.com/2017/04/27/chicago-passes-... )

    1. Only complete idiots, of which there are a great many in this country, still think "new laws" will have the slightest impact on things like this. I'm pretty sure people like the Clinton's and their ilk are quietly delighted when there is a tragedy in which guns were used. Then they get all that free face time on TV that they so love and crave like a hit of crack.

I have plenty of magazines, but since I am looking past my lifetime and considering what my kids and their families may need forty years from now, I may buy some more.

Chicago and Rahm Emmanuel are a bad joke. Chicago and Mogadishu are sister cities.

  10. I find it hard to believe he carried this out on his own. All those alleged firearms, and ammo in the hotel room. he had to have some sort of help getting in all in there over the course of the few days he stayed there. If you think about it, he was pretty smart for choosing that vantage point, and waiting until the last singer, late night, people there all day drinking and partying, incapacitated from alcohol. I am telling a lot of things don't add up with this...

    1. I agree completely. It seems to me that MSM is working over time to sell the "story." Everything is ok folks, nothing to see here, just move along now.....
I don't believe in coincidences. Seems like a big one that his "girl friend" winds up in a heavily Moslem part of the Philippines at the moment he goes on a shooting spree, then ISIS immediately claims the guy is a Moslem convert acting on their orders.

      Delete
    2. And how last week he wired 100,000 to Philippines last week.

    3. Yeah, that's popped up now too. Seems strange to me that now it's been two days, and supposedly there is nothing at all to indicate his motive. One of the guests on Fox said he has no doubt that law enforcement knows a whole lot more than is being reported, and I would tend to agree with that. If the guy was a Trump hater or a converted Moslem terrorist, there are a lot of big hitters in this country who will not want that narrative to become common knowledge.
