Merry Christmas!

I'm doing my Christmas post a bit early this year, as the kids are both coming home and we are getting ready for a big Christmas get together. I hope everybody out there has a nice Christmas, quiet and peaceful. See you all after the New Year.

    1. Gorges, thanks. I hope all of us have a better year next year than this one has been. At least it's ending on a good note, with Christmas. I've enjoyed your blog, especially some of the great memes you put up. Thanks.

  4. Hey Harry,

    (captaincrunch)

I am glad you are doing ok. I read your previous post. I wont really be buying stuff anymore either. I have what I need and a few things I want but yeah. The idea of my stuff being picked through by Christians and Commoners after my devise is horrifying.
I just assume give everything away at some point to worthy individuals, except for what I can carry in two duffle bags and a backpack (the complement that I could stuff into my rack onboard the boat)
I will seek out fellow Vikings and Barbarians and bestow my hoard onto worthy warriors. I have many knives, a spear, hatchets, and now a tomahawk.
Anyone been watching 'Vikings' I thought the Islamic dinner was amusing and 'what to do with a Bishop:)

    1. You ever read the "Conan the Barbarian" books, Captain Crunch? In the final one, he's old and King of Aqualonia. But he figures he's had a good run, abdicates in favor of his son, takes his old warriors gear and a small bag of gold, and rides off into the sunset. That's the way to go.

I don't want people I don't know picking through my gear, either. Maybe I will just blow the barn in place and set off a sympathetic reaction in the ammo and powder supplies. People will think a volcano has erupted. ;-)

I haven't been watching Vikings this season. I meant to, but it comes on at nine and I've been drifting off before then. I can watch it on Kindle, on the History Channel though. I should get started on it.

    1. Tewshooz, thanks. I'll bet you folks have a good Christmas out there in the high desert. Maybe it will snow (but not enough to be a pill.) That's some spectacular countryside you live in. Nice place to celebrate Christmas, especially Christmas eve when you can go out and see the whole bowl of the heavens.

I always enjoy your blog, for a lot of reasons but not least because it's always so homey and comfortable. That's hard to do on the internet but you sure manage it. I'm sure glad we got connected, Kymber knows how to pick a good blog!

We just opened presents, Alex got me so many thoughtful gifts...he loved his too and the dogs got cookies and the cats got prosciutto..spoiled huh? My day is all about food and drink and watching the blizzard outside. It feels all so perfect right now! :) Enjoy your day! :)

    1. THF, I think Christmas really, truly got started for me when I found out the kids could come visit. The wife and I went up into North Carolina doing Christmas shopping today. There was a terrific rain and wind storm going on, but it didn't matter. It was still a lot of fun.

It's good your Christmas will be full of life. Helps get through the rest of the year!

    1. Bob, when I was going to UNM, I always loved Christmas in Albuquerque. Lots of times, there would be snow and people would be burning mesquite in the fireplace. I used to go over to Bataan park, which was surrounded by little adobe houses, and just enjoy how nice everything was. The Southwest is a great place for the holidays.

I hope you and your family have a really good, peaceful day.

    1. Navy91, there was snow last night on the freeway in Ohio and Kentucky, so the kids did not leave Cincinnati until this morning. But they will be here on Tuesday and we will have several days together, so it will be a great holiday anyway.

Best wishes for a Happy Christmas to you and yours.
