If this woman had lived in a state like California or New York, or in New England she and her kids would be dead.

  1. The training she received from her husband in shooting was very timely indeed.

  2. new england? not including VT, NH, or

  3. True. Vermont is decent. Isn't Maine the habitat of Olympia Snow? New Hampshire sticks in my mind as Democrat territory. I would be glad to learn that is not true.

  4. I checked the Washington post 2013 map of red and blue states. All these New England states are blue states. However, I checked a program I use that lets a user read state gun laws and rates them on a scale of one to five with five being the best and one being the worst in terms of second amendment rights. New Hampshire is a two. Maine is a three. Vermont is a five. So the question becomes, how likely would a homeowner be to have a gun in those states, how likely would they be to know how to use it, and how likely would they be to have the will to use it under stress. If you live there then I would defer to your judgment. If I am wrong in thinking as I do about those people then it's the first good news I've had all week.
