Does this surprise anyone from Fla.??
I doubt it. No way 911 could get out to my place in less than 30 minutes even if they had a deputy out here (which they don't). Roads are in such bad shape now a police patrol car would have to stop at least a mile out and the guy would have to walk in, up the mountain. So the only use 911 would be to me would be after the dust settled, to come police up the cadavers. Even in suburbia, this kind of thing is common.
Ya there is no way the police can be there in time even in places where they have much higher ratios. Not happening but they want to leave us defenseless for their protection anyway. It don't hurt them none.
At least the Sheriff here is honest. When I asked about extra patrols out here, he said we were " on our own." Turns out he does't run any patrol cars out here at all. Most of the roads are too rough, there aren't enough people living here, and none of the fat cats live in this area. They're all out at the lake, which you can rest assured is well protected indeed.
