Kathy Usher got hurt.

My long time friend from Moving On To The Past had what seems to be a pretty bad accident. She has had a rough year, as those who read her blog know. She's very brave about it but it's a lot to deal with, all these things. :-(

  1. Our condolences for her injury. When it comes to peoples ankles and knees, injury to those joints is sometimes a long term 'deal with it' situation. I hope she makes a speedy, pain free recovery.

  2. Hey Harry,

    (captaincrunch)

I tried leave a comment for Kathy Usher but her blog does do anonymous comments.

    Here's the comment,

Kathy, I had the minuscus thing repaired. It's easy.

You will be up and walking in days after the surgery in an immobilizer and you will probably heal up 100 percent. Don't worry about it Kathy, its an easy repair (surgery)
The hard part is the anxiety before the surgery and after the surgery its a downhill run. Trust me, I know.

    1. Thanks for trying to leave the comment! I dodged the bullet for now but a replacement may be in store for me in the future.

  3. Hope she heals up OK. As she says, "it could be worse". Very true.

This makes me think of Kimber, I have not heard from her in awhile. Hope all is well with them. Tried to send an e-mail but it came back. --Troy

  4. One of the issues about something like this is the medical expenses. More illegal aliens and inner city denizens may have insurance as a result of the machinations of "black Jesus", but a lot of middle-class people who had decent health insurance before the advent of Obama care now have worthless insurance at astronomical cost. The penalties for not having insurance are not to make sure that these people have insurance, they had it before. It's about forcing middle income people to continue paying higher premiums for schlock, thereby subsidizing insurance for the "where my check" set.

  5. Troy, I noticed Kymber hadn't been on the air and e-mailed her yesterday. She is just busy, J is working full time for a client and she is taking care of their place and making gourmet meals for him, lucky man.

She has several e-mail address, she will see this and touch base with you I am sure.

  6. i am so sorry to hear of Kathy's injury! and being canadian - i only thought about her having to have surgery and the pain she must be in. i didn't even think of the ramifications of having to pay for the surgery. yikes! that Obamacare really sucks! to this day although i have read about it, i still don't understand how it works.

catching up on your previous posts now, Harry. and sending much love to you and yours! your friend,

    1. Cost of health care for the middle class is always a big factor when you are deciding to go to the doctor, or not. Now insurance has huge "copayments' and "coinsurance." So you may have insurance but it doesn't pay anything until you have paid all these. For instance, I pay $460 a month for insurance, but I have a $12,000 "coinsurance" so until I have paid that (between my wife and I) our insurance does us no good in a real emergency.

I know how busy you are, just wanted to make sure the two of you were ok.

  7. You are so sweet for thinking about me on your blog, and for all the kind thoughts from everyone, thank you so much. They are forcing me to use a walker for awhile because the stress on the good leg is making it hurt. I will get by. It is probably a good thing that this all gets over during this year because my company split in to two separate entities. While our benefits are in place this year, I don't know what next year will bring. Thank you all again. Everyone has been so nice, even the strangers I met out of town.

  8. Well, I think everyone realises next time it could be them. Things just come out of the blue, unanticipated. I hate this happened to you because you were already having so much to deal with over the last year. I guess we all just have to struggle through. I sure hope you don't lose your insurance!
