Maybe I am paranoid, but still.....

Incidentally, the person who tracked down my location and warned me about my OPSEC failure was not "Matt."  Just wanted to clarify in response to a query.

    1. kymber, I seriously thought maybe Matt was dead but I got an email from him today. Or, someone pretending to be him!!!!
I mean, you never know. Maybe it was an FBI agent, assuming his identity to infiltrate the blog, after they offed him.

      Or an alien!

    2. I think I'll be the alien..... right Kymber?

Oh yeah, Kymber..... still waiting on that email.

Harry, you've been added to the will. The legal name added is "Harry Flashman".

    3. Hey Harry (and Kymber)

      (captaincrunch)

I've been to Roswell. What does that make me?

    4. I wouldn't mind being an alien. The little green kind, not the shifty, murderous kind.

Good. It really should be "Harry Flashman, Esquire" but we'll let it slide this time.

Captain Crunch, it probably makes you "ripped off" if you spent any money there!

  2. History shows that even a bit of paranoia keeps one alive.

Thanks for the OPSEC reminders, I needed that. Looks like that group in Oregon didn't learn a lesson from it. They paid dearly.--Troy

    1. Yeah. The "road stop" sounded like an ambush to me. As of last night, the FBI wouldn't say who opened fire first, and it's not like them to not bellow the other guy did, whatever the truth really is. I loved that Sheriff and his crocodile tears about killing the guy, at his news conference, surrounded by God know who.

  3. Someone/something is watching. If I have a conversation on Facebook with someone about a hobby or a product suddenly ads pop up for the same thing. Sometimes I think they are listening too!

    1. I think that's google, picking up search words or key words, or whatever they are, and using them to ping you with adds.

  4. did you read 'gorges grouse' about the texans selling all the info on every license plate picked up by the police spying program--even plates belonging to honest people?

it is amazing that a plate can uncover almost EVERYTHING about anybody.

this is the antichrist's ages old wish coming to fruition.

    scary. and inevitable.

    1. Everybody knows somebody who works at DMV and can access the plate database, if you can't get the information on a plate any other way. That's one reason I tell my wife and daughter not to get into any little fusses on the road with people. You don't know who is in the other car, or what they might do. The stupid ones will try something on the road. The smart one's, who are the most dangerous, will find out where you live.

  5. I don't do FB. They may not be able to put everyone in jail, but they can make a big dent. Google is everywhere...and they work for the feds...so does Microsoft.

    1. I tried Facebook and it just was too much to handle. I have enough trouble with blogger. Anyway, although Southern Ohio Guns and AIM Surplus have facebook pages, they were just purposeless. You couldn't look up the offerings, and you couldn't order on them. It was more like a big advertisement. So I figure I don't need facebook, and I also have read a ton of stuff on how Uncle Sugar and Google are in bed together, so I just chucked it.

    2. I read today that Facebook has disallowed private gun sales. Just one more reason to dump them.

    3. I was half asleep in my easy chair last night, listening to the radio, and I heard the same thing. Everybody want's to be "cool" and suck up to the government when it comes to that kind of media, so it doesn't surprise me.

  7. This quote from Benjamin Franklin should be read more!

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!"

I have a question.....do any politicians remember this country is a REPUBLIC?! Not Majority rule but rule of law.

    1. I think it's pretty much rule of the political class, more than anything else now.

The Constitution used to be a pretty good guarantee of protection for the individual citizen. Now it's just ignored when it suits people like Barrack Obama. That's not going to change. Once a society reaches the point we are at, it never goes back. Just continues down the same path until it collapses. There's no reason at all that America won't follow the historical precedents set by civilizations before us.
