Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

So, the Director of the FBI, who is an Obama appointee, and the Attorney General of the United States, who is an Obama appointee, have decided that Hillary Clinton did not commit a felony by breaking every rule in the book in terms of handling classified material.

In the military, if you lose a piece of classified material or mishandle it, you can be reduced in grade, imprisoned, and or dishonorably discharged. But apparently in the state department it just doesn't make a damn bit of difference.

I watched James Comey go through his little routine this morning. The statute he addressed does not consider the issue of  intent. Not in any way, shape, or form.  It simply defines the act of mishandling classified material. It carries a felony penalty. There are other statutes that are directly related to criminal intent, but none of those were under consideration. As regards the specific  law the FBI cited, if you are guilty of gross negligence in the matter of classified material, then you are guilty of violating the law.

Comey said that yes, there was abysmal negligence and it is likely Clinton and her cronies did grave harm to the security of the United States by their acts. But, he said, she didn't mean to be naughty, so he isn't recommending charges be brought.  He is a tool of the Clintons, and does what he's told. Remember how Bill used the FBI when he was President. If you don't remember, check with the Branch Dravidian's at Waco. On second thought, that might not work as the FBI killed them all. Well, how about Randy Weaver from Ruby Ridge? They killed his wife and shot his son,  but he's still alive.

None of us really expected anything different. After all.....

Remember when Bill sent all his appointees out to the press to say the Monica Lewinski story was completely false?  The "I did not have sex with that woman" spin?  Looks like a version of that going on with the "decision" not to indict Hillary.

It's pretty depressing.  To know that people with money and power can do anything they want, whenever they want, and the system is rigged to keep them from suffering any consequences. But let one of the "plebs" step out of line, and watch what happens.

I'm afraid Mark Twain was right. Maybe it's all just a scam the government runs to make the "great unwashed" feel like they have some modicum of control over their own lives.

Thought for the Day.

You do what you can.

  1. Harry people are beginning to understand we only have one of the 3 boxes of democracy left. When that B!$%# dies I hope that she skint and made into a skillet. That would be a true non-stick skillet.

    1. There's little left, truly. The executive branch is going to be Hillary once the clown we have now is gone. The judiciary is already lame, and the next president will be able to appoint as many as three new judges to the supreme court. And as for the legislative branch, the handful of decent senators and representatives are buried under a pile of walking corpses.

  2. Hey Harry,

'Hillary is the ultimate in corruption.

    It will only get worse.

Its fun watching all the 'Sanders supporters' having heart attacks over all this. Now they are starting to realize the reality of the situation.

The conservatives already know it and are digging in. We will probably lose this election even if we have the majority of the votes in Ohio, Florida and other bellweather states.

It will all break down into socialist corruption and then anarchy. It always happens this way in every civilization as it begins to devore itself.

    1. The Soviet Union lasted about seventy years. If you figure Bill Clinton was the first head of totalitarian American, we've got a lot more to endure yet.

  3. I dunno, something seems different here. I think Comey knew there was no way to get charges laid on her, so he used the media (who were practically orgasmic about the press conference) to get the charges out for the public to see.

    Maybe?

    1. I think you're right. I think he laid all the crimes down and named them knowing if he recommended indictment it would never stick. In all accounts he named her guilty with facts.

  4. Andrew, if he wanted to do the right thing he could have recommended indictment. I think he was just playing the role he was told to play. It's straight out of the Clinton play book. How many times did the Clintons do exactly this when Bill was President? They get caught in some wrong doing, deny it vociferously, then admit to some lesser mea culpa and the scandal fades with the news cycle. Remember " it depends on your definition of is.?

    1. I knew there would eventually be no prosecution, but I just didn't expect it to be such a blatant bitch-slap to the people. That is why I was thinking that maybe Comey was doing his best to toss her under the media bus when his hands were tied by circumstances.

What does totally frost my wheeties is that if this was a simple serviceman who didn't ensure that everything in a burnbag was burned, that serviceman would end up in a whole heap of poop (happened to a squadronmate of my dad's)

    2. I was a squadron classified materials custodian at MCAS New River in the seventies. I lived in constant fear of some old operations order that had never been declassified going missing. It would have been the end of my career at the very least. If I had done what Clinton did I would have wound up in Levinworth, beyond doubt. But she skates because Black Daddy told his flunkies to see she did.

    3. The Lt friend of my dad was using a burn barrel and a small piece (unfortunately, the one with the order number) flew out and was caught on some chainlink wire. And who found it but the base commander on an inspection. Lesson learned from dad was watch carefully what you are burning, especially if it is seeecret. (310th Tactical Fighter Squadron, flying F-84Gs (right after the war) at Taegu, South Korea.)

And yeah, being the head female disciple of the Black Jesus has done her no harm, legally.

Non-legally, I have overheard even the staunch rabid die-hard democrats in this liberal hell hole actually talking negatively about what happened. Doubt if they'll vote for not-Hillary, but one can hope.

    1. I think most of us were afraid this would happen, and it is indeed a sad day for the country. That someone so corrupt could simply push a few buttons and not be held accountable for their misdeeds is sickening. That happens in Uganda, but it shouldn't be happening here. However, Obama has done all he could to turn this into a Third World country, and he is probably thrilled that his political lackeys were so easily manipulated to get his anointed over the little bump in the road.

    2. !Hmp! I'd like to get inside that man's mind to know who he is...I'd tell you, too. For that matter, into all their heads. Doesn't appear sunny days are ahead.

    3. My guess it was pure, unadulterated self interest. Obama appointed him, and that says it all in terms of his personal integrity.

  6. And guess who is going to be Hitlery's VP?
Can you say AG Loretta Lynch?.....
The very one who would prosecute if "Comey recommended". But I am sure he reviewed the case with her, and Lynch told him "you don't have a case", and if you try to make one we will destroy you and your family.
I am sure that Slick Willie's surprise visit to Mrs Lynch in that plane fiasco was precisely to make the offer. And that is how the Clinton mafia buy dispensations and bends the law to get away with even bigger crimes. Question is, when will Hitlery write a check that her as can't cash? And who is left to hold her feet to the fire?

    1. It's really amazing, if you think back , how much skulduggery and underhandedness the Clinton's have breezed through. And the people who worship them don't care that they are essentially evil. I watched part of the Barrack Hillary Road Show in North Carolina this week, and it was truly nauseating to see all the fat, puffy faced people in their little blue shirts chanting "I'm with her" while The Minstrel in Chief pranced around the stage exhorting the faithful. But she and her husband just keep on getting over. Anybody that opposes them winds up broke, out of a job, discredited. Or, in some cases, sitting dead on a park bench, having shot themselves with their right hand when they were left handed.

  7. My friend Terry Harper wrote this on the matter:

As suspected Hillary the Un-convicted felon bribes, and lies her way free. I truly fear for our country when the ruling elites are held to a much less stringent legal standard than us members of the un-washed masses. What is even more frightening and indeed depressing is that our moral standards have dropped to such a degree that the Clinton's deep lack of moral character and dishonesty has the hallmark of being resume enhancers - In other words we view success and strong leadership as the ability to lie, cheat and steal and ignore the rule of law as strong character traits for leadership as opposed to detriments.
Do you think the FBI would re-write a law to allow one of us to wiggle off the hook? We now officially have an elite ruling class that is above the law - that has the power and influence to change law and or ignore the law of the land as applied to themselves.
But that is only the beginning. Obama tested the waters and set the bar for ignoring law in his avalanche of executive orders, etc. and outright refusing to uphold the laws of the land. Congress has got into the game by ignoring the will of the people on countless issues - Obama Care, Trade deals, Iran, Immigration, etc.. Hillary The Un-Convicted-Felon will no doubt expand on Obama's mocking of the Constitution and no doubt leverage a congress (which should be acting as a check to executive powers but is for sale to the highest bidder) to take it to a new level of despotism. Combine that with a pliant media who long ago willingly allowed to have their teeth pulled and are unwilling to act as a watch dog and you have the recipe for a bad outcome. Right now - today congress is debating a bill to "strengthen" gun laws. Should people on the terrorist watch list be able to buy guns? Common sense says no. but... if the Democrats have their way there will be no notification that you are on a list, and far more terrifying no due process (as called for by the Republicans) for the stripping away of your 2nd amendment rights. In other words you are guilty no matter what which goes against every principle our laws are based on. (innocent until proven guilty) Just as it has been proven that the IRS has become a political tool to punish dissenters so too will this bill if the Democrats have their way. This in an age where the Government views the American people as more of a threat than the actual terrorist (aka as the fallout from the tragedy in Orlando has shown) Once we head down that slippery slope we are not going to stop until the very bottom. Imagine our very freedom is up for grabs from the highest bidding lobbyist and what each congressman can gain for influence. Hillary is only going to build on this. Heck I am probably going to end up on a list just for writing this! There was even a proposal, as part of Hillary's campaign platform, to make it so those of us who speak out or deny the man-made global warming hoax could be prosecuted!

    1. That's an articulate and well reasoned synopsis of what is happening today. Sometimes I am tempted to just stop looking. I tried it once though, and I just am not built that way. The head in the sand approach may give some peace of mind in the short term, but it will get you into serious trouble eventually. So, like the fellow who wrote this piece, I just keep trying to stay aware.

  10. Decent people with some sense of justice are sad. There are a lot of unintelligent, amoral individuals out there who rejoice that Clinton beat the rap.Doesn't matter to them that her stupidity and arrogance may have gotten some of our people killed. She attracts the worst sort of useless, brainless drones.
