Georgia's flu epidemic may have latched on to me despite all my precautions. {updated 0210171330EST}

I'm not feeling so hot tonight, so  this is just a short post.  The video above is from Fox News. No one would be shocked if they had been following events in Europe via the internet.  It's only shocking because our media has almost totally ignored Europe.

Bitter cold here today. Rained all last night, then clear and bright but never got out of the thirties. With the wind blowing, it was a lot colder.

This flu is ripping through Georgia, and I may have gone into town once too often.  Every time I did, I came right back, washed the clothes I wore and dried them on "high", took a good shower. But it may have been for naught.  Guess I'll see here pretty quickly.

Sounds pretty straight forward to me:

Federal immigration law also includes Section 1182(f), which states: “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate”

Thought for the Day:

    2. High doses 1000mg of vitamin C will help to douse that bug.

  2. Oh bummer. I did that in December. Stay hydrated, and chill out!!

    1. J, yesterday was a bad day. I tried to "work through it" but just ran out of steam. Today I'm staying inside (it's cold out there) and not doing anything strenuous. It may be I just pushed it too hard this week, I've been stacking up limbs and other debris and burning it.

  3. Bummer, Harry! I'm getting over it after being in bed for two days, and although I'm up and moving, I'm still only running at about 75%.

The cough was the worst part, and kept me up all the time. Mucinex works great to help you clear out your lungs, and for the rest, I just took the Walgreen's version of NyQuil.

Hang in there, get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids, and you'll get past it.

    1. Maybe I don't have the flu, I have just been achy and tired and running a fever, but no cough. I have been taking NyQuil too, it's a panacea for all ills and works for just about everything.

I may just have overdone it. One of the problems with living out here by yourself is that the chores have to get done, regardless of how sick you feel. Going out and taking care of the run of the mill stuff when you are pretty bleached out is a drawback.

    1. The only thing I have is the honey. Where do you get Elderberry, do they sell it at the drug store. What about echinacea?

    2. Elderberry tincture - I make it every year. Try a health food store, a natural food market. Drugs and natural remedies at two different places. Ha, ha Pfizer will negate old remedy results - no profit there for them!

    3. There's no health food store or natural food market within a hundred miles of here, but I will see if I can find it on line.

  5. Not a big surprise from that poll above, considering the shenanigans and mayhem immigrants cause in those countries. That will not end well. Trump is attempting to stop that from occurring here, but some folks just don't get it.

We all do what we can but in the end, something always catches you eventually. Kick up your feet and get some needed rest - we'll be here when you are ready to continue.

    1. Was listening to Rush today, and lolling on the couch. One of the things he said was that the people who voted for President Trump don't know what to do to help him in the face of all these attacks from the left. He didn't have a solution, though.

I'm better off today than yesterday, but I'm not doing anything outside. Today is a rest day. It irritates me that I caught whatever this is, because I was so careful and followed all the procedures for not bringing the disease home with me. Not closely enough, maybe.

    1. I'm being careful about that. Maybe it's just that I overdid the physical labor thing the last few days. I've been dragging limbs that came down during all the storms, piling them, and burning them. Takes it out of you.

  7. Ignorant liberals are determined to ruin this country. I hope you do not have the flu, but that you feel better soon.Take care of yourself. Jana

    1. Jana, it just seems to get worse and worse, doesn't it? Rush was "chastising" people who thought everything would be fine once President Trump got into office, and I guess I was one of those. I had not anticipated this insane treachery on the part of the left, but I should have.

I feel better today than yesterday, but I'm staying inside and doing only essential chores like feeding and watering the animals.

    1. Randy, don't know what it is. I am all achy and have a low grade fever. But some of the other folks who had this flu mention issues I'm not having, like a bad cough. Could be I just overdid this week trying to get things done outside.

  9. It is hard to remember sometimes that we aren't 40 any more...or even 50. I find I have similar symptoms when I overdo it. A day of rest is a good thing. and it helps.

Seems to me that so much time and effort is being wasted on trying to make Trump look bad that those involved are missing the point. We are allowing people into our country who want to kill us. We need to stop. Period. And yet, the left just doesn't get it. I wonder what it will take to get them to realize that if they continue down the political path they are on, really bad things will happen and the responsibility will be theirs because they chose to ride the Stop Trump train rather than work toward making our nation safe.

    1. Vicki, I'm just listening to some smooth jazz tonight, and resting. I went out on the porch a few minutes ago. There's a big moon tonight and I am always taken aback at how beautiful nights like this are. With no light pollution the moon light is spectacular. Little chilly though so I didn't stay long.

It will take some truly dreadful event to shake the country awake, and then it will be too late. And even when it happens, the people who prevented us from limiting immigration, the people who bear the entire responsibility for that event, will then blame the administration. After some apocalyptic event like a dirty bomb, or a nuclear bomb, or a weaponized virus, maybe we can arrest people like the three judges of the ninth circuit court, and punish them for their irresponsible and traitorous actions. It will be a little late by then though.

    2. Thank you for reminding me of the beauty in a rural night sky. I have lived in the city so long that I had forgotten. At one time, I had the additional spectacular view of a Northern Lights show in the winter. Takes a person's breath away.

I am afraid you are right. I have never in my lifetime seen such hate and discontent and name calling and outright lies coming from those who are supposed to represent us. It is like a poison for which there is no antidote. I had hope that with the new administration there might be some major changes to right the wrongs of past leaders and lawmakers, but when I see how the left is throwing up every roadblock possible to either stop Trump or at the very least slow him down, I am beginning to wonder if any good can come of any of it. With the current standard of refusing to take responsibility for actions, I think that should an apocalyptic event occur, politicians will be more interested in shifting blame than doing anything about it.

    3. Swamp rats scream the loudest before they die. Do not give up. We have to clean out our school system of these rats NOW.

    4. I think some people are trying to do that, but the left controlled the educational system when I was teaching, I expect they still do, and it will be hard to pry it loose from their control. Has to be done, though.

    5. Vicki, maybe it's good that things are coming to the point where the pressure will be too great. They can't continue on as they are, and once the boulder starts rolling down the hill, others will join it and become an avalanche. We need to break the log jam and clean this cess pool out, and we will never have a better chance than now. I am hopeful.
