Conan the Barbarian is alive , and well, and living in California.

My wife and I were watching the news last week, early in the morning while we planned what we would do that day.

There had been pro-Trump rallies across the country, and predictably, they had been overrun by Clinton skraelings,  You know the type, dressed up in black and carrying sticks and pepper spray.
Most of the Trump supporters are middle aged  working people.  Often there are lots of retired people in the crowd, and it's usually couples. They don't fare too well when they get attacked by the Clinton Ninja.

So we watched this news clip with resignation, more than anything else.  Four of the Boys in Black were beating up one old guy, trying to tear his flag out of his hands. The other Trump people were yelling and waving their signs, but nobody was stepping in to help the old guy out.

Suddenly, from the bottom of the screen, this young man comes roaring in. Looked to be mid twenties, no shirt, combat utility trousers, and black combat boots. He had a "high and tight" haircut. I didn't think anyone wore them anymore, but it used to be you had your head shaved except for a little thin layer on the top, and you had the middle shaved out of that.

high and tight haircut

This guy was clearly a weight lifter. He smashed down one skraeling with a single punch to the face. Then he pummeled the Clintonite who had his hands on the old guys flag, and before the other two could get away he snatched them up, and just beat hell out of them. They were laying on the ground, in the fetal position, while he whaled them.  In about 15 seconds this fellow destroyed all 4 of these punks.

My wife and I were amazed. She said "excellent!" It was very uplifting.  The clip was short, but I have been looking for it on YouTube and on Fox Videos, because I'm sure you'd enjoy it as much as I did. I'm sick of seeing people who want to support the President being sprayed in the face with mace , and beaten with sticks and clubs. I hope whoever this fellow was, he has lots of friends.

There are a couple of new magazines out on the newstands that might be useful to some folks.

American Survival Guide just came out with another special edition.  It's not bad,  Has some good articles on growing and preserving food, on security precautions, survival communications, and a lot more. It was a good refresher for me , and it would be great for someone just getting into the lifestyle on a serious basis.  Costs ten bucks, but I think it was worth it.

This months American Survival Guide is a pretty good issue. They've moved away from the "go hide out in the hills" and are having more articles on subjects everyone can benefit from. Part three of Mykel Hawke's series of articles is in this issue, and it was interesting. Some good photo work in the magazine, as well. I'm not sure how useful the article on brewing your own beer is, but I know in ancient times people drank beer instead of water because the water was crawling with diseases.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

    1. That's how I felt after watching that young man trash the Ninja. I bet my blood pressure went down significantly.

  2. My grandfather advised that if I was going to a protest...ANY protest....that I staple a sign to either a maul/pick handle, an axe handle, or a Louisville slugger.

    Just in case.

So far, I have never found him to be wrong.

    1. B. That's an outstanding idea, and I'd vote for the ax handle. It's perfectly balanced for dealing out attitude adjustments. You just have to remember not to hit the bad guys in the head, but arms, knees , upper and lower leg, and torso will have salutatory results. My brother carries a baseball bat in his truck, in the gun rack, so I guess it's really a matter of what suits you best. ;-)

  3. Hey Harry,

    (captaincrunch)

When I was first opened up this blog I saw the Conan image and I breathed a sigh of relief. Oh' thank God. I needed to see that.
Starting the day with that image is a good sign.

I'm glad your back in game Harry. 'Experienced Vikings are needed. You are not 'relieved yet' As long as you have fire in your belly and 'Gravel in your gut (Line stolen) from Johnny Cash's song 'A Boy Named Sue' we need you front and center on the line.

As per myself. I'm still raising hell. I have been doing a lot of work (when I can) in the yard. I am starting to go to the range again since the weather warmed up.

My favorite 'YouTube Hero' is 'Based Stick Man' check his video's out. They are all over youtube. 'Based stick man is like a modern day Viking with a shield and big stick:)

    1. I'm glad to hear you are doing ok. I wondered if the Mexican dopers had run you out of your neighborhood down there near the beach.

I have been doing some shooting to, at my range behind the barn, short distances but fun and it keeps me limber. More pistols than rifles because the rifles seem to get heavier and kick harder as the years pass. Can't think why.

I never heard of based stick man but I am going to check him out. Sounds like my kind of video.

  4. i was talking with a cadet as he cleaned his weapon the other day. his parents are libs, even though one is retired military. he was saying he plans on buying a self defense handgun asa he gets to permanent station. we chatted about a myriad of topics, disagreed on many, but he was open to other ideas without going screaming mad or calling me a fascist. he leads a somewhat sheltered life now but in a few months he'll be out in the real world. i think he got the message though, "do your own research". i've converted several now with that, those that are open to it anyway. i've been watching the pro trump site for a "meeting" near me. if one comes within a days drive, i'll be there. and i don't think the libs will be ready for me either.

    1. Well, it seems like the police are just standing back and letting people battle it out. That news segment that had the heroic young fellow beating up the trash mentioned several other rallies, and showed people battling hammer and tongs. Then they would say "3 people were arrested" or "two people were arrested." I say that's a good thing. Let the two sides fight it out and see who is stronger. The police are a handicap at a Pro Trump rally that gets attacked, because the left wing street fighter crowd doesn't care if they get arrested, they don't have jobs to lose, and Soros will pay their legal fees. But the good guys don't want to be arrested because they have clean records for the most part, and they still believe that getting arrested is humiliating. So if the police just stay out of it, the good guys feel a lot less inhibited.

A stiff dose of reality will clear up a lot of illusions in short order. My two kids left home to go to school in Vancouver, British Columbia and were up there almost three years. It was a pretty sheltered environment. Then they came home and moved to Jacksonville, Florida. Their apartment was on the wrong side of the river and they learned in short order that old dad wasn't a racist, he was a realist. Living in the Northern City they live in now has finished the process. They have their eyes wide open now, after some of their experiences with the Morlocks.

I'm looking for something I can go to with some younger fellows I know. I don't want to drive to Atlanta, but there's a good group of people in their late twenties and thirties here that I would go down to the rally with. I met them about two years ago, considered joining them but didn't want to give up my independence in terms of what I'd do in a crash situation, and I wasn't ready to take orders from anybody again. Good folks though.

  5. This reminds me, I tried watching the movie The Road on TV last Sat. I thought it might help me get my mind around what is most likely coming upon us. I made it through the part where the bad guys had locked about 8 people in the basement of an old farm house, and the boy is standing in a bathroom looking at blood in the sink. Now, I already read the book about 4 years ago and I just don't remember it being that gruesome. I had to turn it off. I thought I remember some discussions about the movie and people said it was good. It was too much for me.

    1. The Road is the most chilling book in the post apocalyptic genre I have ever read. It starts out grim, and it never gets better. The scene you describe is in the book, and shortly after that scene it gets worse as the protagonist and his son are hiding out in the field and the cannibals are cutting up someone alive to eat. The film and the book are pretty close in content.

The Road has one scene that really upset me, and I probably bought 5000 rounds of ammo more than I needed over the next few years because of that one scene. It's where the guy and his son come over a hill top, and about 20 cannibals are chasing down a middle aged woman and her little boy. The hero only has one round in his pistol, so he has to run off and leave the woman and kid, who are killed and eaten by the cannibals. That flew in the face of everything I believe in, but I saw that the fellow had little choice, as he had his own son with him, and only one round. So I have stocked up big time on ammo and I could fight the Zulu's or the Mongol Horde for a few days before I ran out now......

It is a good book, and a good movie, but it is depressing as hell, and not "fun." I've read the book twice, and I watched the movie once, but I can't say I enjoyed either experience. I did it to see what I could learn that I might be missing in my own planning. Can't say I blame you one iota.

Ahh...The Road...first time I saw it was in the theater during its limited run...was in a dark place before I watched it and it had a profound effect on me...read the book which is a masterpiece...Cormac McCarthy's vision is all too real and haunting...Who are the good guys? You could have a bunker with 100000 rounds of ammo and the wrong sequence of events happens then boom...no more bunker and you're running with what you could grab last minute...I guess that is why people cache...glad for the break in radio silence...

    1. COTD, I think the reason The Road rattles people is that it really is so bleak. I do all my planning and stocking so that, if something like that happens, I can maintain some level of existance above the cave man line. But The Road makes you take a look at the level below that, and it's unnerving.

Since I moved up here in 1986, I have not really done any bug out planning. The whole reason for coming here was to already be in my "retreat" if things went wrong. In the last few months I've been doing some serious rethinking of that philosophy. North Georgia, Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee were ravaged by an entire summer of long and large forest fires. That could run me out of here. I'm not so worried about that event in a normal situation, but post collapse it could be fatal.

  7. I have to agree with your wife. "Excellent." The young man who cleaned house on the four who were beating the old man gives me hope that finally folks on the right might be getting to the point where they have had enough.

    1. Vicki, a friend sent me some links to further amplification on that Pro Trump rally. There were more photos, and more video footage, of young men wearing that very unusual hair style and fighting the skraelings. Given where it took place, I think now that there most have been some Marines from Camp Pendleton there. They certainly showed the moral courage and the willingness to fight of Marines. I hope none of them get into trouble. There are always pencil pushers in every organization who thirst to show they are "in control", and those people can be very counterproductive.

  8. When Mr. H and I watched The Road, it scared the hell out of him. I found the book at the library sale last year and purchased it for the same reason that you stated about seeing if I missed something in our planning, too.

I sure hope that Conan doesn't get sued by the 'peaceniks'. It seems like that is their mode of operation to put fear into those with dissenting thought. But his actions sure did warm my heart.

    1. I doubt they can identify him. There were many other young men that age, sporting that distinctive haircut. I have a friend who sent me links to amplification on that particular march , and it was full of pictures of young fellows with high and tight haircuts, dealing out street justice to the Hillary Nazis. I suspect some men from Camp Pendleton went up there.

The Road is a good book to read for what it has to teach, but not a book for a quiet Sunday afternoon. It's very unsettling. The movie was as well. It's a reminder that things can get very, very tough in short order.

  9. I once was on the subway in Atlanta many years ago. I witnessed an older person being beat up by a younger thug. I froze in my tracks. Part of me wanted to act, but another part of me was worried about what the guy would do to me. I had a knife on me. He could have had more than a knife. As I was thinking someone pushed them off the train, then helped the lady up. I thanked him.

    1. You could easily have been injured or killed if you had intervened. It was up to the men on the subway to act, but it often seems like urban males have been emasculated. I'm glad someone stepped in , and I think you are wise to wait.

  10. Harry, My original comment transmitted and the screen went blank before I could finish. So I'm trying again. I hope you and your wife are well, and the weather hasn't gone crazy there for y'all. I agree with your wife's comment regarding the young man who rescued the elderly gentleman during the rally. Beating up or using scare tactics won't stop Trump supporters.

    1. Sandy, sorry about that. You know how blogger is....

We are fine, but the weather has been all over the scale, from nice warm days to tremendous storms, mostly at night. Another big one coming through this evening.

I was highly gratified by seeing those four thug wannabe's trounced. They do ok against 70 year olds, four on one, but they didn't fare too well against one young man in his prime. I would like to see a lot more of that. I know that when the pro-Trump rally was held in Atlanta earlier this month, a lot of people showed up with rifles, which they can do under our laws here. There were no Hillary Ninja in evidence, although a lot of them had been bussed into the City for a "protest" scheduled for the next day.
